Finally, a tax cut Republicans hate

Nobody has accused the Republican Party of being the “tax-and-spend” party, at least since Saint Ronald of Reaganworld rode off into the sunset. The GOP mantra for at least the past 25 years has been “Hear no taxes; see no taxes; raise no taxes,” and the vaguely ideological underpinning for the party’s objection has been codified into law—political canon law. I’m not sure about you, but I was shocked when Ron Paul, a physician, was asked about a patient without insurance who was seriously injured. There were at least a few people in the audience who yelled, “Let ’em die!” I commend Ron Paul for not playing to the crowd.
