News from Japan continues to worsen. The news is sketchy but it seems that a meltdown is inevitable. There will be a ripple effect throughout Japan’s economy. Patrice Rushen

I wasn’t aware of Patrice Rushen in the early ’80s. She was a jazz pianist, clearly not in the mainstream. Then, out of nowhere, in 1982, she released the tune Forget-Me-Nots. It had an infectious beat and she had a wonderful melodic voice. The combination was a huge hit. You might recognize the baseline, as Will Smith used it in his tune, Men in Black.
