Last Thursday, Governor Bev Perdue announced that she would not run for reelection. She is one of the few Democratic governors in the nation. I think she has done an excellent job with a very contentious Republican legislature and am deeply saddened that she has decided not to run for reelection. From the News and Observer: Gov. Tuesday Evening News Roundup Probably the biggest news of the day was that Governor Rod Blagojevich has appointed former Lt. Gov. Ronald Burris to replace Barack Obama in the Senate. One thing I can say is that I would not want to play poker with this guy. This guy has nerves of steel, no doubt.
