Yesterday, I was talking with my brother, who is an eternal optimist. We were talking about the Dallas Cowboys. My brother, who has an astonishing, voluminous vocabulary, was running out of adjectives to describe the abysmal performance of the Dallas Cowboys this season. All I could do was listen as he compared this year’s team to those led by Quincy Carter and the early years of Troy Aikman/Steve Walsh (1-15). Although beating the Philadelphia Eagles would be satisfying, it might mean absolutely nothing. The Eagles are struggling. The magic that Michael Vick had just 18 months ago seems to be gone.

I love the Dallas Cowboys. My father took me to see my first Cowboys game back in 1966. So, it is my father’s fault that I love the Cowboys. Back in the 1960s and 1970s, the Cowboys played football. Cowboys verses Giants

This is why you watch the NFL. It is for games like these. Everything on the line. Win and you are in the playoffs and you win the NFC East. Cool. I just finished watching the Giants lose to the Redskins in their week 15 match-up. The Giants did just about everything that they could to lose that game. They played the run extremely badly.
