Emmanuel Pickett

I didn’t know Emmanuel Pickett, but I wish I had. He was from Wallace, North Carolina. He was the butcher, the police detective and he was in the National Guard. He was a remarkable man of only 34 years-old when he was killed by a roadside bomb in Iraq. NPR has a wonderful remembrance of this great man. He was the kind of man that treated everyone with dignity and respect. He was the kind of man that we should all strive to be.
