So, President Bush was completely beaten back with his Al Qaeda in Iraq scare from last week. Almost every major new outlet had an expert that stated the connection was an overreach at best and at worse it was a lie!
This morning low and behold, we capture an Al Qaeda in Iraq insurgent. He just so happens to be a major figure in that well structured organization. You would not believe what he said. Bin Laden has direct command and control over Al Qaeda in Iraq. That’s so amazing. We just so happen to capture the exact guy that knows how the connection works. He’s the man. (Where have I heard that before? We have captured a #2 who knows everything… About 1000 times before as our President trotted out one number 2 after another.)

The U.S. military on Wednesday announced the arrest of a senior leader of al Qaeda in Iraq, an insurgent who, the military said, is casting himself as a “conduit” between the top leaders of al Qaeda and al Qaeda in Iraq.
Khalid al-Mashadani, an Iraqi also known as Abu Shahed, was seized on July 4 in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul and is in coalition custody, the military said.
“He served as the al Qaeda media emir for Baghdad and then was appointed the media emir for all of Iraq,” said Brig. Gen. Kevin J. Bergner, Multi-National Force-Iraq spokesman, who briefed reporters.
