For those who love basketball, this is the sweet spot, the best time of year. There was tons of basketball this weekend. There were a few upsets. The Cinderella team seem to have had their time in the sun. Lehigh and Norfolk State have been eliminated. Tarheels destroy competition

The North Carolina Tar Heels simply destroyed their competition. There’s no other way to put it. I thought this was going to be a close game. Boy, was I wrong. It appeared to me that North Carolina consciously, over the last three games especially, worked to play almost perfect basketball from the opening tip-off. They gashed opposing teams in the first five to 10 minutes and opened up huge leads. In tonight’s game, the story was all about turnovers. The Tar Heels had nine steals (Lawson had eight). The Michigan State Spartans had 21 turnovers. That’s the game right there. This game was over by halftime.
