Tarheels destroy competition

The North Carolina Tar Heels simply destroyed their competition. There’s no other way to put it. I thought this was going to be a close game. Boy, was I wrong. It appeared to me that North Carolina consciously, over the last three games especially, worked to play almost perfect basketball from the opening tip-off. They gashed opposing teams in the first five to 10 minutes and opened up huge leads. In tonight’s game, the story was all about turnovers. The Tar Heels had nine steals (Lawson had eight). The Michigan State Spartans had 21 turnovers. That’s the game right there. This game was over by halftime.

Memphis-Kansas Final

I can’t imagine working hard enough to put yourself into position of wining the NCAA basketball championship only to give the trophy away by missing free throws. Missing free throws!! There is no excuse. Memphis missed five in a row, if my count was correct. They missed them down the stretch in the last three to four minutes of the game.
