Cleveland goes wild!!!

After all of the crying and whining that Cleveland did when they lost LeBron James, they should be dancing in the streets now!!

From ESPN:

LeBron James is heading back to Cleveland.

The four-time league MVP told SI.com on Friday that he is returning to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

“My relationship with Northeast Ohio is bigger than basketball,” James told SI.com in a first-person essay. “I didn’t realize that four years ago. I do now.”

For James, it marks a complete turnaround from his original free-agent decision in 2010, when he bolted Cleveland for the Miami Heat, creating a “Big Three” with Dwyane Wadeand Chris Bosh that went on to win two NBA titles in their four years together.

Maine goes to Obama

This has been a very bad weekend for Hillary Clinton. So, bad that she has fired her campaign manager. Now, there is no way that you loan yourself $5 million then turn around and fire your campaign manager and try to say that everything is hunky-dory. I don’t think you can do that and get away with it.

Barack Obama has taken Maine today. He took Louisiana, Nebraska and Washington State yesterday. He took them all by fairly wide margins. Kos, who I think is very knowledgeable, thought that Barack Obama needed to survive Super Tuesday in order to fight to the end. Now he thinks that Hillary has to survive February. Virginia, Maryland and DC are on Tuesday. According to Poll Tracker, Barack Obama appears to be leading in Virginia and Maryland by a good margin. On February 19, there is Hawaii.

BTW on the Republican side, I have no idea what happened in Washington State. HorsesAss has an excellent summary of the confusion. Huckabee appears to be lawyering up.

Update: It appears that the Washington State Republican party chair, Luke Esser, simply called the election for McCain. Enough said. There was no advanced statistical analysis of the remaining votes or precincts. He just, as we say in the South, eyeballed it.

From NYT:

Senator Barack Obama racked up his fourth decisive victory this weekend, winning the Maine caucuses on Sunday, as Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton replaced her campaign manager and longtime aide in the biggest shakeup of her campaign to date.

In a fast-paced day of striking contrasts, Mr. Obama showed new confidence as he soaked up the roar of his crowds, drawing a crowd the campaign estimated at 18,000 people to a convention center here. He referred only in passing to his victory in Maine, where he won 59 percent of the vote in a state that Mrs. Clinton had thought could be hers. (more…)

Maria Shriver goes against the governator

Maria Shriver has endorsed Barack Obama. As you know, Maria is a Kennedy and the wife of Arnold Schwarzenegger, who endorsed John McCain only a couple of days ago. I wonder if this caused some tension in the family.

I’ll see if I can get the video for you.

From CNN:

Maria Shriver endorsed Democrat Barack Obama’s White House bid today at a Los Angeles rally.

“Follow your own truth and your own voice,” she told the crowd. With California’s primary just 48 hours away, “We’re at the epicenter of change. We can lead. We can lead this country,” she said. (more…)
