Cowboys-Rams preview

So, how does this game stack up?  The Cowboys have the #2 offensive in the league.  Wow, it has been a long time since that has happened.  The St. Louis Rams have given up an average of 22.7 points/game (21st in the league) but the Rams rank 7th in total defense with the Dallas Cowboys defense still stinging over the Giants win, is ranked 21st in total defense.  Steven Jackson is out for the Rams.  Mark Bulger has just 2 TDs and 3 ints so far this year.   He was only 17/26 and 116 yards last week.  All 3 of his interceptions were last week.

Look for the Rams to try to get on top early.  I think that they will try to control the clock and keep the ball away from Dallas’ offensive.  They will pick on corner back  Jacques Reeves with Tory Holt.  If Dallas has to play from behind, St. Louis has a strong secondary, look for the Cowboys to be in trouble.

The way that I see it:  Dallas will control the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball.  They will mix the run with short passes.  They will try to work the clock and the Rams defense.  If they are able to run the ball, then St. Louis is in for a long day.  Tony Romo must take care of the ball.  No turnovers.
