  1. Former House Speaker Jim Black will plead guilty to federal corruption charges needs to be a lesson to all lawmakers. Elected officials should never compromise ethics for gaining power. The former Speaker is expected to plead guilty to a charge of accepting illegal gratuities Thursday and is facing up to ten years in prison.
FINALLY! See this is what a group of determined individuals can do! Kudos to all of you that helped to get Jim Black out of office and forced him to take accountability for his actions. Remember that it does begin locally. Finally something susbstantial has happened in Raliegh. I can’t wait to see who will follow Black to jail in his path of corruption.
