There were many musicians that are flashes in the pan.  In the late 70’s Gino Vannelli had a rich sound that was hard to peg.  He had a sting of ballads but his up tempo stuff was more interesting to me.  He was reclusive in a time when pop stars were seeking the media.  He was different if not odd.  By the mid-80’s he was turning into a “pop” star.  He read his own press.  Black Cars was his last hit that I’m aware of.  It was not his best effort.  (I’ll see if I can find a better video.)
