This group seemed to become a supergroup overnight. They exploded out of the gates with their first album – Born to Sing. Hold on and Lies were 2 singles from this record. Their 2nd album was bigger than their first. Funky Divas.
They were beautiful and talented. Many of their songs had meaning like this one – Free Your Mind which is a cover of a George Clinton (of Parliament fame) tune. They combined funk, hip-hop and rock and roll to get a great sound. After their 3rd album, Runaway, they kind lost their momentum and never did find their groove again. One of their orginal members left in 1997. There was a couple of hits after 1997 but as BB King would put it – The Thrill is Gone.
