Donald Trump was largely elected because he promised to fix the economy. Everything felt too expensive, and Trump pledged to solve that problem. Since taking office, I haven’t seen a single policy aimed at improving our economy. The Trump administration rolls out new policies every day, but none seem focused on fixing the economy or helping American consumers. While Trump has been concentrating on deploying the military to cities like Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., and Chicago, inflation keeps rising. He’s imposed tariffs on nearly every country because he claims they are “ripping us off,” but none of this actually helps the economy. These tariffs are just taxes on us, the American consumer. We’re currently in a government shutdown because Democrats are trying to protect healthcare for millions of Americans. If the full impact of Trump’s tax cuts kicks in, the average American could end up paying much more for healthcare. The good news is that many people have plenty of money—we’ve paid off our loans and houses, and we’re flush… or are we? The truth is, the cost of living keeps climbing, and we have less disposable income. Inflation is rearing its ugly head once again, and Trump isn’t doing anything to help us.

Experts
We need experts. Just because someone has a microphone doesn’t mean they are an expert. A clear example is Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., who shares medical information but is NOT an expert. We must stop listening to people without expertise. Just because you can take a photo or video in a grocery store and read food labels doesn’t make you an expert. Recently, I saw someone discussing the benefits of raw milk. What the heck? Raw milk! We pasteurize milk because drinking raw milk can be harmful. Salmonella, E. coli, and Listeria are bacteria commonly found in raw milk. The pasteurization process involves heating the milk to kill these bacteria. It’s a simple process, not complicated. Pasteurization helps prevent disease without reducing milk’s nutritional value. This is what experts say. But we still listen to influencers on TikTok spreading nonsense, and that can make us sick. It’s long overdue to take control of our social media. We need to fight against lies. Platforms like Facebook, Twitter (now called X), and others should develop algorithms to detect and remove blatant falsehoods. Lies should be taken down. People promoting supplements should have their videos labeled as commercials.
Stephen A. Smith, an ESPN talking head, has recently been commenting on politics. He was wondering, as loudly as he could, why the Biden administration didn’t release the Epstein files. It seems that the Department of Justice didn’t close their investigation into “third parties” until July 2025. So, the Biden DOJ wouldn’t have released files while the investigation was ongoing. If Smith were an expert, he would know this.
