I guess the writer is unaware that most electricity is generated by fossil fuels.

As you know electricity can be and is also generated by a variety of means including water, wind and solar.

Just pointing out that the electric car versus fossil fuels is a false dichotomy since most of
electricity is generated by fossil fuels and nuclear fission.
