So, I was warning anyone who would listen that I wasn’t buying what the Cowboys were selling. Sure the Cowboys offense looked good through the first 3 games but the defense was iffy at best. Then the Cowboys run into a buzz saw. The Saints are for real. They are winning with backup quarterback Teddy Bridgewater. The Packers waltzed into Big D and handed Dallas a can of whoop. Aaron Rodgers looked like it was 5 – 7 years ago. He was calm, cool and throwing strikes. The Dallas defense, which was supposed to come together this year, looked completely lost. Then a running back that I really never heard of Aaron Jones run all over the Cowboys. He scored 4 touchdowns. 4!!! In the history of the Dallas Cowboys no back has scored 4 touchdowns. So, the Cowboys are in trouble. Their defense is marginal and their offense is crumbling because they can’t keep Dak upright.
There is a lot that can be said about the Cowboys loss to the winless. On offense, the Cowboys can’t consistently run the ball. They can’t protect Dak Prescott. Prescott plays much better with a clean pocket. There was nothing clean about anything that the Cowb0ys did today. Dak was hit. He was beaten. He was chased all day. How do you stuffed on a 3rd and 4th down then what could be worse? Well, you can the Jets, the winless Jets, backed up near their own endzone and allow Darnold to sit in the pocket and throw an 92 yard touchdown pass. The second longest touchdown pass in the history of the Cowboys. Think about for a moment. The Dallas Cowboys were about to score a touchdown. They are inside the 3 yard line. They have Zeke. Dallas’ brand new offensive coordinator Kellen Moore needed to come up with a play. He failed. Twice. I think that the most disappointing thing about the Cowboys is their defense. We have no pass rush. We can’t stop the rush and we can’t cover. Besides that we are GREAT. Back to the touchdown drive. The Jets have the ball at their own 8 yard line. Darnold takes a deep drop Anderson runs a kinda stop and go and Awuzie bites on the move. There is no safety help and Anderson dances into the endzone.
The Dallas Cowboys have a lot of work to do if they are going to be a good team. Right now they are NOT a good football team.
