Senate judiciary committee voted to approve Alito. Now the vote goes to the full Senate. The vote was on party lines. There were no surprises. Interesting a poll was done by CNN/USA Today/Gallup which revealed only 30 percent of Americans opposed Alito. The poll didn’t ask if those Americans were following the hearing closely.
Alito will get confirmed but he is clearly out there with Scalea and Thomas. I think that the rules for the judiciary hearing should be changed. We should know more or scratch the hearings, period.
