Tipping Point

This is a drawing of the 16th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham after the bombing. The police are going through the debris. Malcolm Gladwell wrote a very popular book called The Tipping Point. The book discussed when ideas went from crazy or obscure to mainstream. I would argue that the Civil Rights movement was stuck in neutral. The average American really didn’t take notice of the Civil Rights movement in 1963. But the bombing of the 16th Street Baptist Church, where four little girls were killed, shocked our nation.
