Limbaugh continues

In radio and television, Americans love to hear and see conflict. Rush Limbaugh has served up controversy in big, huge dump truck loads. Earlier, he stated that he did not want Barack Obama to succeed. Just in case anyone was not paying attention, he has reiterated that statement multiple times. Yesterday, he commented on Gordon Brown’s (Prime Minister of England) polite commentary on Barack Obama’s first 70 days. This is typical Rush Limbaugh. Rick Sanchez introduces this clip.

Jobless rate hits 8.5%

More bad news, though not unexpected. Here are the numbers from the Bureau of Labor Statisticss. Figure from Center for Budget and Policy Priorities. From EPI: The March 2009 employment situation report, released this morning by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, showed that the labor market continued its free fall in March. Unemployment increased sharply to 8.5%, its highest level since 1983, and payroll employment declined by 663,000 jobs, an average of over 30,000 jobs lost every work day in March. Obama's budget passes

Republicans are mad. Really mad. After all of their bluster, the Democrats manage to stay together and pass a budget. Again, not one Republican vote.  It seems to me that this is a remarkable feat. Democrats don’t seem to stick together on much of anything, but somehow they managed to stick together on the budget.  President Barack Obama, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and House Majority Leader Nancy Pelosi are to be congratulated for guiding this through.  All of the talk of the Blue Dog (fiscal conservative) Democrats in the Senate and House went nowhere, I guess.  Maybe they were just puffed
