Hootie and the Blowfish

Hootie blew up in early 1994.  This was their 3rd album.  This album sold 16 million copies.  For about a 2 year period, you couldn’t turn on the radio without hearing some Hootie and the Blowfish. Their leader singer Darius Rucker just has a unique sound.   Just like many groups that get overexposed in our society, their albums in the late 90’s were duds in my book.  Anyway, last year they released their 10th album.  This tune is from that album.  It is a neat tune.  Enjoy.

Michael Brecker – rest in peace

The famous saxophonist Michael Brecker died this week.  If you don’t know who is was please click on the links here and here.  Micheal Brecker was one of the musicians who could play anything.  He seemed to truly enjoy playing.  All I can say is that I have enjoyed his music for over 25 years.

Senate passes Ethics reform

This is huge.  HUGE!! Will post more later on this and the 100 hours legislation. From WaPo: Senate Democrats and Republicans broke a difficult stalemate last night and approved 96 to 2 expansive legislation to curtail the influence of lobbyists, tighten congressional ethics rules and prevent the spouses of senators from lobbying senators and their staffs.
