Cab Calloway and "Minnie the Moocher"

It has dawned on me that I did not provide any music for you to enjoy over the weekend. Therefore, now, I’ll try to make up for this terrible slight. Cab Callaway was born in 1907. By his early 20s he was being recognized as a showman and an excellence musician. By 1930, he’d landed a permanent job with his band at the infamous Cotton Club in New York (supplanting Duke Ellington’s band). In 1931, he and his manager, Irvin Mills, wrote the hit “Minnie the Moocher”. Enjoy.
