Francesco Molinari playing great golf. Today is an excellent example. He just plays great shot after great shot. On 18 it looked for a second that Molinari would stumble. His tee shot was left. Because of the angle he hit his second shot into the front bunker. Now, he has a long bunker shot. There was no way that he would hit that bunker shot to within 2 feet… No way. Bam. Within 2 feet. Par. Molinari is going to be very hard to beat tomorrow. I don’t care who is trying to chase him down. He plays within himself. He does not make many mistakes. He recovers wonderfully when he makes a mistake.
Augusta played perfectly. The temperature was perfect. No wind. Guys when low. Patrick Cantlay, Webb Simpson and Tony Finau all shot 64’s today. Finau led the tournament for a while.
Tomorrow tee times are moved up. Bad weather is coming in the late afternoon. So, the Masters will have the players going off of split tees.
Since 1990, all of the winners of the Masters have come from the top 5. The top 5 are Molinari, Finau, Woods, Koepka, Simpson and Poulter.
