As usual, you are trying to keep me honest. I appreciate that. I agree that Jimmy Carter is a man of faith. Although, I like Clinton and voted for him, I'm not sure that I would include him in that category.

I think Romney had a good week and his speech was a tremendous success in Republican circles. It has been the most memorable political event during the Republican campaign this season. Thanks, for the link to the daily kos review. The side by side with Kennedy was good. Romney’s speech was more appealing to me. All the writers you linked seemed miffed that Romney didn’t explain his Mormon beliefs. I think that it would have been silly and irrelevant for Romney to give a lecture on baptism of the dead or any other aspects of Mormon theology. I think leftist pundits misunderstand evangelical conservatives if they believed that evangelicals wanted an explanation of Mormonism from Romney. Of course the most foolish criticism is that Romney has called for a “theocracy.” Sometimes, you can be better known by your adversaries. Given some of the liberal responses, Romney has achieved turning a defense of his Mormon faith into a defense of religion in the public square. He has managed to place himself in the mainstream of social conservatism.
