Great segment from Jon Stewart. Is this right? Did we tell 9/11 rescuers that we would pay for all of their illnesses except for cancer? Really? That's so wrong, I can't even begin to tell you.

Sounds like the time to identify who negotiated this deal, and shine some light on those who failed to push hard enough for the needs and obligations to the first responders and the heartless bastards who insisted on this exclusion in order to pass the bill. These are our fellow citizens suffering and dying and the destruction of their families; what message, what lesson are we teaching to ourselves and the world about who we are as a nation? The first question raised in the Torah/Hebrew Bible/Old Testament is in Genesis 4:9. "Am I my brother's keeper?". We don't get a direct answer, we have to pay attention and use our brains a tiny bit. What sort of person can keep continue reading the Bible and miss that the answer is "YES YOU ARE!" Of course, if your moral compass is mostly directed by ego, greed and self interest (under the guise of capitalism and free markets) then your mom can write you a note excusing you from moral teaching; it's wasted on you. Sorry about that; I thought you were a better person.
