Debates – Hiliary on Iran

Thoughtful. Sane answer.

Out of all the questions that could be asked to a candidate, did you see the Republican candidates answer the question about what to do with Iraq?  OMG!!!  I will talk more about this later when I have the video for this but, Mitt Romney, former Governor of New York, needs to learn how to work Google.  You can wax eloquently about policy all day but if you don't know the facts, I'm sorry, you need to sit down.  Mitt Romney proved that he did not know the facts.  He stated their weapons inspectors were not allowed into Iraq in 2002.  This, of course, is wrong.  Not only will the weapons inspectors allowed into Iraq but they had unfettered access to any location that they wanted.  There was no obstruction that we saw in the late 90s.  All of this information is available on the web.  Hans Blix, wrote a book called Disarming Iraq.  All the information is in there.  Unfortunately Governor Romney did not choose to enlighten himself with enlighten advisers or by reading any number of sources.  Incredible.

Guys - Chill. There are many issues that you are discussing by each other. Iran is a huge problem. Hiliary's answer was exactly what you would expect from someone who is seriously running for President. It had just enough substance to prove that she knows what she is talking about but she didn't go out on a limb and said what was "safe." Iran is a real problem. I don't think that anyone knows the right answer. We haven't had decent relations with Iran since 1979. Both R's and Dem's have dropped the ball. Pakistan is a problem. You have an unstable government with a large militant muslim population. That isn't a good recipe for long term stability. Both Pakistan and Iran are HUGE foreign policy problems. I thank you both for your comments.

She didn't. I did. Like I said MY personal view. I guess we should just go ahead and send our guys there too on false claims. My son has already served during this war. I hope his kids won't be called to serve in another.

Yeah, you're right. Pakistan, our ally that hasn't made a single threat of force against any other country, is more dangerous than Iran. Brilliant assessment. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/6733487.stm Yeah, let's let that guy have nukes. By the way, did you happen to notice that even Hillary said that Iran having a nuclear weapon is "absolutely unacceptable" in her view? Funny...I didn't hear her mention Pakistan.

People keep focusing on the past. We have to move forward to get out of this mess. What she will do with Iran is a refreshing response considering listening to the republicans. I personally see Pakistan a more serious threat with a nuclear bomb ( they actually have one) than Iran and North Korea.

Apparently someone needs a speech writer. Brilliant analysis...if only it were true. If there was so much cooperation from Iraq, why did the House and Senate vote so overwhelmingly to support the use of force by the U.S.? Now that she's running for President, sounds like Hillary is trying pretty hard to make people forget where her positions on these issues have been up to this point. From the mouth of Ms. Sanity herself More interesting reading: http://www.nytimes.com/2007/03/01/opinion/01chafee.html?ex=1181275200&en=52bceaf44509c2cc&ei=5070 http://www.radioopensource.org/hillary-clintons-war-vote/

This is why she is serious candidate material. She can think and speak. Just shows the democrats are so far ahead in this race. They have people who can think and speak without a speach writer. She gave an excellent answer. Thanks for sharing.
