Former Vice President Dick Cheney has received a heart transplant.

Good.

I hope that Mr. Cheney’s new heart lasts long enough for him to be prosecuted for war crimes.

Human Rights Watch says that both former President Bush and Mr. Cheney should be investigated for war crimes because they ordered people to be tortured.

I suppose it is not likely that this will ever take place.

But with Mr. Cheney having a new lease on life, we can keep on hoping that justice will be done.

(The U.S. Senate website is a great resource to learn about each of the Vice Presidents.)

Update: Editor’s Note – VP Cheney isn’t my favorite person. But I don’t wish him ill. I hope that he does well with his new heart. I find it interesting that he was transplanted now instead of 8 or 10 years ago. It was clear then that his heart was a significant problem back then. Yet, for some reason, he wasn’t transplanted. Now, he is 71. He is a different man than he was 10 years ago. He is thinner, but, not in a good way. He looks chronically ill. The official recommendations is NOT to transplant someone over the age of 70. We all know that the rich and famous are able to bend and break rules that the rest of us can’t. So, he gets a heart. I hope that he does well.
