Democrats have a spine after all?

Tonight the Democrats have used rule 21 to investigate the Senate Intelligence committee. This is the committee who was supposed to be investigating the use or misuse of intelligence in the lead up to the war. Could this be a political stunt? Or are the democrats finally sensing weakness in the White House?

A few things are clear. The Senate Intelligence Committee could have investigated how information was used in less than a year and a half. They are foot dragging until after the mid-term elections. Then Bush is a lame duck. Republicans could easily blame Bush and his adminstration for failures since they are leaving office. Also, the Democrats are trying to fire up their base. If Alito is going to blocked they are going to need a ton a support from left and from all moderates. Interesting times are they?

So the administration knew they were wrong about... weapons, Al Qaeda, Sadaam and intentional force fed Americans and the Congress wrong information. Sounds like a pretty good conspiracy that would involve all our intelligence agancies not only this administration but the previous one as well, Tony Blair, the UN and even France and Russia. Sound like Bush/Rove are more talented than most would suspect.

Or the adminstration's lack of honesty. The problem isn't that they were wrong. The problem is that they knew that they were wrong and force fed the American public a pile of garbage.

This is the Democrats opportunity to attack the Bush Administration's honesty and their justification of the war.

Excellent article. The Republicans continue to show us that it is all about the money and nothing else.
