Yet another bill signing delay

The last time the President demanded a bill from Congress then delayed signing it - it was the Detainee Bill.  The White House was hoping that sign the bill with a lot of fanfare would boost ratings.  Nope.  I'm guessing we are going to see more fanfare with this Border Bill signing.

We will definitely see an attempt to strike up the drums. I'm not sure that it will be successful though. I think that the border states affected by this have already had their rabid fringes stirred up as much as can possibly be stirred. Here in Arizona, we have three or four initiatives on the ballot that deal with immigrants already. I also think that for the non-border states, the average Herman Q. Voter doesn't put the immigration issue at the top of their list of concerns. I think for them, the critical national issues are more likely the war or the economy. Then after that, I think it is local issues and local-mudthrowing, such as Corker's race-baiting in Tennessee. If this is part of a Rove strategy, I think it's probably a misstep, and one that I'm happy to see them try to milk, but then again, I'm not an evil genius or anything, like he is.
