Countdown – Tom Delay's Delusions

Keith Olbermann has a special comment on Tom Delay.

First, before, I get to his special comment, why?  I must ask why?  Why has Tom Delay resurfaced like a boil that will not heal?  His type of winner take all politics has been rejected by the voters.  Hell, Delay ran the House like the Mafia.  It was the "either you're with us or against us" model of government.  So, I'm not sure and I really don't care if Tom Delay is guilty of rigging the Texas election.  I'm glad that Tom doesn't have a strangle hold on our government any more.

Tom's new book is being peddled on all of the major news shows.  Why?

You are so right. I was in Tyler when Paul was forced to run in a largely republican stronghold. We need to find a "fair" way to draw districts. The Republicans have shown us the unfair way. We need to come up with some formula that will work across the country and will not be subject to the wims of the majority. Anne - Thanks for your comment.

While I join your outrage over Tom DeLay's national "resurfacing like a boil that will not heal," I DO "care that he is guilty of rigging Texas elections." Here in East Texas where I live, we were witnesses and victims of DeLay's moneyed manipulations in a specific election. My dear friend and solid progressive Paul Sadler, who was a Texas State Representative, House Education Chair and a man named Most Ethical Legislator, lost to a former city mayor rich kid thanks to DeLay's flood of illegal money and Mr. Sadler's refusal to use damaging personal information against his opponent. Sadler should have been running for governor by now and we would have an end to another Bush-y, our governor Rick Perry. It all goes to show that here in Texas (home of so many characters you are seeing on TV), the neocons have hurt Texas politics and reputations as much as anyone's in America...perhaps ours most of all.
